In case anyone out there hasn't seen this. Sean Hannity (Fox News) has a list of 'wasteful' uses for stimulus money and many of them involve scientific research projects. Although Hannity is discussing many of these projects outside of their real context to make them look foolish a priori, they've moved on to more "in depth" investigations of these "wasteful" "pet" projects financed by "liberals". So what would you say to non-scientists when Fox News sticks and camera and mic in your face and asks why your scientific project (or vertebrate paleontology) is important and deserves to be funded with taxpayer dollars?
